*If you want to know what "accidentally" means, it was THE ONE TIME I ran out of torches. A predatory nightmare summoned from the darkest recesses of the unknown, the Shambler is an Eldritch miniboss that lurks in blackest pitch, dropping Ancestral trinkets when killed. Maybe he got a string of failed retreats? I know last time I accidentally ran into a Shambler,* it took a few tries to retreat successfully. If you're playing with standard options, however, retreat is not a guaranteed success. Why didn't you just retreat.? You can retreat starting up to round 2, since you can't retreat if you get surprised. Did you know theres a Darkest Dungeon Official Discord server with 11k+.

Probably the first fight so far to really give the game a true lovecraftian feeling for me at least.īut whatever, I'll just make sure to never interact with a mysterious looking obelisk again. If you would like to suggest mods for us to showcase, you can join our Discord. and if you retreat with somebody still in the pot, youve just abandoned. Still, the real suprise was two of my heroes becoming virtuous during this battle making the desperation more intense as they fell one by one to this incomprehensible thing. Make no mistake, Darkest Dungeon is not a case of Hard Levels, Easy Bosses.

Not difficult, but I did have to change up my strategy a bit. Originally posted by Stratomsk:The Cove was interesting as I had never been there before.
